Public Art Action Plan approved by Arts Commission!
September 17, 2013
Last night, the Holly Shores Public Art Action Plan was approved by the City of Austin’s Arts Commission!
In Spring 2013, GO collaborative was commissioned by the Art in Public Places program to develop the plan, which creates a framework for future public art commissions in the Holly Shores / Edward Rendon Sr Park at Festival Beach Master Plan area. The Master Plan has been under development over the past year, led by the Parks and Recreation Department and Michael Van Valkenburgh & Associates. The Public Art Action will be an addendum to the larger master plan document. Our recommendations stem from the creation of three zones within the park, based on the landscape settings, programmatic uses, and input from the community.

SXSW Eco Awards
September 10, 2013
The Trail Foundation’s series of restrooms at Lady Bird Lake has been named a finalist for the SXSW Eco Place by Design Competition! GO collaborative’s Trail Memories community engagement project is one of four designs included in the entry! The entries will be displayed during the SXSW conference and three winners announced in October.
We are honored to have been recognized, especially for a project that was so much fun! We loved talking with Trail Users and gathering over 1700 comments to fuel and inform the Trail Foundation’s newest restroom project at Heron Creek. We look forward to seeing the restroom design by Mel Lawrence Architect take shape!
