Working in close partnership with the City of Austin, ArtPlace America has selected our proposed Drawing Lines project as a potential finalist for their 2014 grants program.

ArtPlace America selected 97 as finalists for consideration for its 2014 grants to support creative placemaking. In each of the proposed projects, the arts will play an explicit and intentional role as part of strategies to help shape their communities’ social, physical, and economic futures. In total, ArtPlace received 1270 letters of inquiry.

Working with the Economic Development Division of the City of Austin, GO collaborative proposed Drawing Lines as a project that will harness the power of the arts to directly engage the political transformations taking place in Austin by creating opportunities to map cultural assets, engage citizens about upcoming political changes, and help build the identities of Austin’s newly forming Council Districts.

We’re working closely with our other project partners – Austin Creative Alliance, Public City, and artist Jennifer Chenoweth, to pull together the plan for our dream project.  Wish us luck!
